Met Gala 2025 - Superfine: Tailoring Black Style
The 2025 Met Gala, held on May 5 at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, was a celebration of Black style, creativity, and cultural influence. The theme for this years Met Gala was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” the event honoured the artistry of Black fashion and the legacy of dandyism, drawing inspiration from Monica Miller’s seminal book Slaves to Fashion . This marked a signi ficant moment, spotlighting Black menswear. Every year the Gala is held to raise money for the Costume Institution. This years theme paid homage to the rich history of Black fashion, emphasising the elegance and sophistication of tailored styles. Co-chaired by Anna Wintour, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams, the gala seamlessly blended fashion with cultural storytelling.
