She took the stand in the trial against the men accused of orchestrating  the harrowing 2016 robbery that left her bound, gagged, and fearing for her life.  Nearly a decade later, her testimony wasn’t just about retelling the trauma, it was a masterclass in strength, style, and reclaiming power through fashion. In a move rich with symbolism, Kim appeared in court wearing an extravagant diamond necklace, with a replica of  the 20-carat Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring that was stolen during the robbery. Met Gala 2025 - Superfine: Tailoring Black Style

The 2025 Met Gala, held on May 5 at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, was a celebration of Black style, creativity, and cultural influence. The theme for this years Met Gala was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” the event honoured the artistry of Black fashion and the legacy of dandyism, drawing inspiration from Monica Miller’s seminal book  Slaves to Fashion . This marked a signi ficant moment, spotlighting Black menswear. Every year the Gala is held to raise money for the Costume Institution. This years theme paid homage to the rich history of Black fashion, emphasising the elegance and sophistication of tailored styles.   Co-chaired by Anna Wintour, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams, the gala seamlessly blended fashion with cultural storytelling.   The ‘blue’ carpet was a testament to this narrative, with guests donning ensembles that celebrated Black excellence and sartorial innovation.
