The 2025 Met Gala, held on May 5 at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, was a celebration of Black style, creativity, and cultural influence. The theme for this years Met Gala was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” the event honoured the artistry of Black fashion and the legacy of dandyism, drawing inspiration from Monica Miller’s seminal book  Slaves to Fashion . This marked a signi ficant moment, spotlighting Black menswear. Every year the Gala is held to raise money for the Costume Institution.
